Biography

Born and raised in Tacoma, WA, Raechel Corey is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She received her entry-level training in ballet and modern at the Metropolitan Ballet of Tacoma in Washington from 2004-2014 with Damaris Caughlin. In 2015, she attended Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-I) to receive her BA in Dance pedagogy. There, she performed in a variety of styles including tap, jazz, ballroom, and modern dance for the BYU-I touring dance team Dance Alliance. 

In 2020, Raechel moved to Dallas, TX where she began working at Sheena’s Dance Academy in Frisco and has choreographed for their non-profit company The Frisco Ballet in their annual Nutcracker productions. In 2025, she graduated with a MFA in dance from Texas Woman’s University where she studied choreographic counterpoint and worked as a graduate teaching assistant. She has worked in collaboration with the University of North Texas composition course with Ryan Fillinger to produce an original work, performed a contemporary Bharatanatyam solo at the American College Dance Association, and worked with guest artist Abdel Salaam from Forces of Nature to restage an excerpt from his repertoire, B’ Smoove. Recently, she was invited as a guest artist for the Fusion Dance Company at Tarrant County College-Southeast campus to set an original new work.
