Biography

Raechel Corey is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher who was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington. She received her entry level training in ballet and contemporary at the Metropolitan Ballet of Tacoma in Washington from 2004-2014 with Damaris Caughlin. In 2015, she attended Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-I) to receive her B.A. in Dance pedagogy. There, she performed in a variety of styles including Tap, Jazz, Ballroom, and Modern for the BYU-I touring dance team Dance Alliance

In 2020, Raechel moved to Dallas, Texas where she began working at Sheena’s Dance Academy in Frisco and has choreographed for their non-profit company The Frisco Ballet in their annual Nutcracker productions. In 2022, she was accepted into Texas Woman's University Master's program where she is currently developing her choreographic style. She has worked in collaboration with the University of North Texas composition course with Ryan Fillinger to produce an original work, performed a contemporary Bharatanatyam solo at the American College Dance Association, and with guest artist Abdel Salaam from New York City to restage his work, B’ Smoove.
